I don't know how they didn't get that, or why they'd be mad about it, but as far as I can tell, that's what the problem was gamers saw something different and got angry about it. I think gamers just needed to understand that they could actually get the whole thing, like a regular game, when all the episodes were out. I don't think putting a hard and fast date on the final episode is a good idea at the start of a season.Īnd this stuff really wasn't early access. I mean, I'm not sure how anybody could have looked at the full Season 1 package on the Steam store page and not understood that all the pieces would be out by the end of the season. They should make it early access - make it clear that the full game will be out by date X, but if you buy now you'll get to play levels as they come out. I'd MUCH rather have a steady stream of Hitman coming over over the course of a year than have to wait until the end of the year to get any of it. Whether that's a vindication of the episodic model or an indictment of it, I'll leave for you to decide until the whole game is in my hands I'm reserving. After struggling to find the fun in Hitman's first episode, I was hopeful that the second location would be an improvement but I didn't imagine it'd be this much of an improvement.
